FYI, the results of the crash were one fatality (the rider) and non-fatal injuries to the two passengers of the car he struck.

If interested, a photo of the damage to the vehicles (only) gives an idea of violence of the impact.

Sad. Even before the actual crash all I could think was "What an ass." Sorry, but I'm finding it difficult to feel sympathy for the rider. And that's spoken as a (sane) rider. The car occupants on the other hand deserve much.

At least he was wearing a helmet!!

I reserve just a small shred of sympathy for people like that, along the lines of, geezus how did your life come to such a waste? Even with a dirtbag, it’s like when was that moment you looked at life and made the decision to live your life that way?

...and West Hills Hospital (where all 3 grand sons were born) is only 1/2 mile away. My old neighborhood isn't accustomed to this sort of action.

There is something of a morbid fascination to know how far the body flew. Camera reframed so quickly I lost track of it.

It looked like the body just disappeared in the air. It was there in one frame, gone in the next.

The news story I saw said he was traveling almost 80mph when they collided, and he was thrown 150’ past the point of collision. So half a football field.
