I was out running a few errands and saw several motorcycles zipping around, people in shorts and t-shirts, skateboarders, and lots of smiling (albeit sometimes masked) faces. Then, tomorrow we're smacked right in the face again. Yeah, I know 31 isn't that bad, but after 61, I don't need it.

I can beat that. I saw 3 people in swimsuits (not wetsuits) swimming off Jamestown, RI today. It was warm, but… there is snow on the beach.

It's funny. 60 in the spring after it has been in the 30's or (well) below seems balmy.
60's in the fall after it has been 70 and 80 seems downright chilly.

It's all perspective!

When we had boiler problems last year, our house got into the low 50's and we were FREEZING; In April the outside temps got up to 50 something and I was out in a jacket and loving it.

Grew up in New England. One of my first trips to California was during a January featuring mid 70º temps, other hotel guests gave me really odd looks when I showed up at poolside to sunbathe.

My relative youth, naivete and then svelte physique turned what should have been a total embarrassment into a bacchanal, one I'll forever restrain myself from sharing details of with my California born grand-kids. They know me as I am and couldn't in their wildest imagination picture me ever being other than old decrepit Grandpa.
