Six days of jogging/walking. Sixteen miles.

I took advantage of a brief warm spell on Saturday to do 5 miles. I hope we have more of those warm weekend days in Feb/March.

Did a 32 mile bike ride on Saturday and another 15 mile yesterday. Felt good to loosen up the old bones.

We've got our annual physicals coming up in 2 weeks. Every year we lose some weight to try to fool the doctor! We went to Feb physicals years ago to try to limit our Christmas weight gain. Both of us did pretty well but we'll be more focused on what we eat for the next 2 weeks and will both lose a couple of pounds. Our golf is limited by morning frost delays on the greens so we've been starting later in the morning and playing 9 holes rather than 18 for the winter most days, including today.

My latest trick has been to store a couple of interesting YouTube videos on my iPhone and then watch them during the elliptical, using my new groovy Bose QuietComfort earbuds. It distracts nicely from the sweating and huffing and puffing and I end up staying on way longer (well, 30 minutes is long for me). A great trick, I'm really enjoying it. Also, as much asI used to love the treadmill, rowing machine and jump roping, my knees just don't take it any more, and the elliptical is a much smoother ride.

14.1 miles of walking which isn’t bad given 2 days of travel to Florida where the walking is warm and easy this time of year compared to Minnesnowta.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

I live in SoCal so I'm totally cheating in the Winter as walking is my "exercise." I feel for everyone who has to deal with snow, cold and wind as I wouldn't do it. I dunno what I'd do.

Wait, yes I do: I'd eat chips and play computer games.

Anyhow, this week's tally: 3.5 Mi/day
