My family requires weekly burger night and I try to refine my technique every time. I'm currently cooking indoors. Last week I buttered the buns for the first time and it made a big difference. They went into the oven for 4 min at 350°F - some toasting occurred but the buns were still pretty pale. Dark grill marks are my standard. Anyone making this happen indoors?

I just butter and then toss them on the grill side of my cast iron grill/griddle.

I use the toaster... toast, little butter... melt for a second... then toast again for just another 30 seconds or so. its yummy.

we always pan cook our burgers... and better meat makes a diff. tillmook GRATED sharp cheddar sprinkled on top and over sides -- place the lid on to steam the cheese let it touch the pan to have crispy edges.

side note -- we got a smash burger here... wife and daughter went... said it was awful... were they doing it wrong? some special menu or best way to order?

Had burgers last night. I lightly butter the buns then pop them cut side up under the broiler for a minute or so to toast. If I have something else in the oven, I'll just put the rolls cut side down directly on an oven rack.

I use butter and then put them in a skillet. Ballpark hamburger buns with seeds are great.

Put them on the grille, for about 10 seconds over the fire
