That pic is crazy as that Mac is pretty new and can use the current MacOS.

However I did install Chrome OS on a 2009 15" MacBook Pro with 4GB/250SSD and it works well for what it is. Considering I have 3 of these things, I think one of the other ones will get Ubuntu.

I think it was Cloudready I tried. It was bought by Google shortly after I installed it, so I kind of gave up on it, but it worked great. Absolutely no reason to use it on a machine that will run anything else well, but I tried to get my mom to use it because it was so easy. She was too much of a computer snob to use it winking smiley

Yes that's correct, both of my other ones (and this one previously) run El Cap 10.11.6.

Which does suggest the question of what do you get with this Chrome OS over using regular El Cap with the current version of the Chrome browser, which still supports 10.11.6.

I'm gonna use it for a while to see if there are any advantages. It'll probably just be used as a backup machine to the kids' school Chromebooks but again, it's not clear to me whether there are any feature advantages of Chrome OS over using the Chrome browser on a regular OS.
