iPad Air 2 is way too old and may not support the current iOS. iPad 6 is newer and does.

I'd save up my $ and get the current 64GB iPad instead for $329. Far longer iOS (and thus App) support than these will get.

The Air 2 is actually a halfway decent iPad. They were $599 new vs $299 new for the current gen. Nice screen, good graphics chip. However, they are EOL. They do run the most current iOS but that is going to be the end of the line for them.

The iPad 6 is a better deal. Not quite as nice of a screen as the Air, but it was considerably less expensive new.

I agree. If you can swing a new one at all, go that route. Both of those options are really old.

My original iPad Pro (which came out a little after the Air 2) is feeling long in the tooth, and it is better than the Air 2 in every way. It feels slow and the battery drain is crazy when it isn't doing anything. A factory reset and clean slate might make it better, but I haven't gotten around to that.

I can't find a 64 gig iPad on Amazon new for less than $400. Where are you seeing the new ones at that price?

Was hoping to buy at a place with a 30 day return policy because I live in the sticks.

$329 is the "normal" price: [www.apple.com] although Apple is showing a 6 week shipping time.

MacConnection "claims" to have stock (not sure I'd trust that without calling and asking them) and they have a 30-day return policy, albeit with a 15% restocking fee...

brand new ipads are $329, w/64 GBs -- the best "budget" choice. Or last years model.

I don't think I would want to go any older than 2018/19 for an iPad. Kind of a big jump in processor. I would do a 2017 10.5" iPPro -- a very sweet ride --a great choice if you can find one cheap.

I think the ebig problem is supply, same issue at Christmas -- they are just OOS.

Yes, I just ordered one from the Mothership for Granny Zealand last week and it'll be here in mid-late March. It will also be a test bed for us getting another of the same model. Both will be replacing iPad 3s - 10 years old.

This is why I'm recommending the newest but cheapest you can get, as it will also receive the most iOS and App support long term. Our two 3s are definitely slow but the real kicker is fewer and fewer Apps can even run on them and only older Apps have older versions you can run. You're SOL with new Apps.
