Follow up on my prostate cancer, got an excellent report.

I had my first every 6 months followup on my very early stage prostate cancer. My PSA level has dropped from 5.7 to 2.4 which is great. I'll go back again in August and they'll make the decision as to whether or not to do a scan to check to see if the tumors are growing. The generic Flowmax and Finasteride seems to be doing their job. The Finasteride seems to have the most side effects but if it keeps shrinking my prostate I'll keep taking it. I'm feeling good about this.

Very nice! I had my PSA run a couple months ago, 0.7. I’ve also taken finasteride, and was not a fan of the sexual side effects, so I stopped taking it. You may, however, grow a thicker head of hair!

When my father was diagnosed, his PSA was 33.8. So, you’ve got rookie numbers. I wish you continued health and good urination!

It is good news, but just be aware, on finasteride your PSA is basically half or what it would be off the drug. So your PSA is perfectly stable, which is good news.
