I keep getting the emails I have UNSUBSCRIBED back as errors. What’s the deal?

Consumerism run amok.

The inmates running the asylum.

I tried unsubscribing for quite awhile, to no avail. Now I just bulk erase every morning and forget about it.

In future try using Apple’s anonymous email service. Seems to show some promise.

Most of the time the spammers are using the unsubscribe to verify there is an active user at that email address. So unless you subscribed to the site in the first place, almost all of the time the sender does not do anything to stop sending. I just mark them as spam and move on. Some eventually get blocked by Google gmail on my account there, the account from where I worked that is on MS Office 365 accumulates them as junk email and deletes them after a month.

I purchased SpamSieve to help with junk mail and it works really well. It runs all the time on my iMac and moves emails to the junk folder so it effectively is the spam filter for my IOS devices as well. It has the option to train emails as good or as spam and so far it's worked for me.

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.

That's my conclusion, also.
I was getting an email per day from Engelmann Software Shop. I hit "unsubscribe," and started getting two emails per day from them.

Many of the unsolicited emails I get are from spammers making it look vaguely like the email is from a well known company and usually all of the links in the email including the unsubscribe link goes to the spammers website. I never click on links in any of those types of emails.

But then there are the emails from legitimate companies that I've never done business with. I've received some of those because some idiot out there with a name similar to mine thinks that my AppleID and iTools/.Mac/iCloud email address is actually theirs and they sign up with these companies. When I get some of those I DO click the unsubscribe link to stop them and quite often they do.

But then there's JOANN Stores... Someone seemed to have given them the @me.com version of my Apple email address (I only use the @mac.com form) and they sent me 10 emails between July 28th and August 8th. I clicked Unsubscribe on every one as soon as it arrived. Finally I sent an email to their customer service department asking them to stop and to delete any account that is using that email address. They finally stopped.

I am not familiar with that service unless you are referring to .Mac.com

Which the recent OS you can have Apple generate an email address from iCloud. When I'm asked for an email address the option pops up in the field. When they start spamming you on that address you can just delete. Pretty cool.

I've had good luck unsubscribing - I can't remember even a single request not being honored.

It is what it is.

Seems like for some 'unsubscribes', requesting one simply verifies that there's actually someone - you - at the other end, and now you get even more junk from all of their associates.
