anyone have a magsafe iphone dock that stays on your desk WITHOUT adhesive? Date: March 13, 2022 11:10PM |
I'm annoyed that it sticks to the phone when I lift it. Life is annoying.

I haven't noticed any MagSafe cradle/paperweight that would fit the bill.
Grabbing the 'Phone by the sides near the bottom and angling it up lets me lift the 'Phone of the MagSafe cradle without moving or lifting it.
Something like this micro suction cup adhesive might work to anchor it and still be removable as desired.
Or, you could get a QI charger cradle that doesn't use magnets at all.
Slower charging, but if you don't need 12/15W, it could work.

The micro-suction thing will probably do a decent job.
I keep one of those dashboard anti-slip pads under my regular iPhone cradle for the same reason, the whole thing lifts up when I try to lift my phone off of the charger. Looks like it's the same stuff as RAMd®d's link.
The pad needs a rinse every 6 months or so to keep it "sticky." Other than that, it works pretty well.

how about more of a 'stand' type? looks hollow, maybe add more wiwght to it if needed.

Yeah, you could get a hollow one and use a glue-gun to pack some pennies in there. Like they do with these:
