Wouldn’t the size of a zebra be better?

the wording kinda sounded like they think a giraffe is 20ft wide.

There are 4 distinct species, and a whole bunch of subspecies. And male or female? 14-19 feet tall and 1800-2600 pounds.

Very imprecise.

Now, hippos or rhinos, THAT'S a unit of measurement! How about camels?

Wait. Are carats actually carrots?

Animal sizes are so imprecise. It should be more like “one millionth the size of Delaware.”

I believe that Rhode Island is the standard, not Delaware.

One of my favorites.

Funny thing is, I can instantly visualize 6 washing machines. But if you were to say the pothole was 6 cubic meters in size, I'd be baffled. facepalm

We won't have to worry about learning it once it's banned by the repubs.

Apparently half a giraffe (do you cut it in half symmetrically like an avocado), a step ladder and a grand piano are all the same size. And the asteroid is about 6.5 feet wide, and unreported height and depth.

Some said it was the size of a stepladder. Others said it was more like half the size of a giraffe. Either way, on March 11, 2022 at 21:22 TUC a tiny asteroid struck the ocean 300 miles/470 kilometers off Norway’s Jan Mayen Island.

Did the 6 1/2 feet/2 meters-wide asteroid—about the size of a grand piano and officially called 2022 EB5—slip through the surveillance net?

At 6.5' wide, they are alluding to a giraffe being 13' wide. facepalm
