Content acquisitions continue to happen. Where are you at, Apple? Maybe it would be a good idea to buy Disney.

I haven't decided yet whether I think this is good or bad.

Don’t everything raise the price of Prime?

.....Amazon will own only 50 percent of Bond. The balance is held by Barbara Broccoli and her brother, Michael G. Wilson. The siblings also have ironclad creative control, deciding when to make a new Bond film, who should play the title role and whether remakes and television spinoffs get made. (They have blocked such efforts in the past.).....

Exactly what I've been saying all along. Apple should go after all that old content out there. 8.5 billion is nothing to Apple.

For some time now, MGM has been the red-headed stepchild of studios, moving from owner to owner without ever really getting any TLC from any of them. Given the studio's place in movie industry history, it certainly deserves more respect than it has received in recent decades. That it has ended up with an owner with very deep pockets and presumably a healthy level of respect for the studio's catalog is a good thing.

That that owner is Amazon is a bad thing.

It is what it is.

Glad the deal is finally closed. Brad Wright has been pushing for a new Stargate TV show for the past two years and the pilot is written.
