I've heard for a long while now that it's bad. But is it? Because I'm wanting a neck cracking something awful!

The native chicken and turkey faction consider it murder. Rabbits are also opposed

The whole idea of my elderly spine being 'manipulated' scares the hell out of me. NOPE.

If you really wanna do it, make sure you get a clean set of scans first!

If you have anything wrong w/ your C-spine, or other related anatomical structures, you don't want your neck accidentally manipulated improperly.

Be careful.

This happened to my mom's friend.

She was seeing a chiropractor for a lower back problem and for no discernible reason, the guy cracked her neck and then sent her home, telling her that the pain she felt was good and would go away.

She called for help when the pain just got worse, and died in the ambulance.

Chiropractics are fake medical procedures based on insane pseudo-religious nuttery. Anyone "benefiting" from visits to a chiropractor would get the same benefits from a massage therapist without the risk of paralysis or stroke.

Many have died from neck cracking by a chiropractor. Do you want to add to that statistic?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

That seems to be part of the internet lore, but I'm just not sure about that. It wouldn't be a chiropractor any way, but I'm asking for folks' recent experiences.
