Yep. Got me one! Need to finish getting it set up; the internal is half the size of what I'm used to working with and so I need to figure out how to do what I have been doing in a different way. I needed more power, Scotty!

The Store had them back in stock, and as I have been looking for a refurb MBP with the same specs as this beast (and this beast is not quite half the price) I "settled" for the Studio, low end. I have given up portability to some degree; at least the little one isn't 40 pounds, like the last one I bought new some 18 years ago.

Now to learn R and get those large data sets worked up. Someone was stating that he had some large CSV files; the ones I'm working with are about a million lines long, and could potentially be as wide as 60 columns or so--60 million data points potentially in the matrix--and the old 2015 MBP was choking before I even got to these guys. And there are some 130-140 files to go through.

I may be asking for help, if there are any of you who know R.
