My shower thoughts this morning were after I started reciting one of my favorite spoken intros.

When I was back there in seminary school
There was a person there
Who put forth the proposition
That you can petition the Lord with prayer
Petition the Lord with prayer
Petition the Lord with prayer
You cannot petition the Lord with prayer!

So what is your current favorite?

Another one of mine is the intro to The Ocean

We've done four already
But now we're steady

This one is from the same album as the first, but it is actually sung, so it doesn't really qualify.

David Wilcox (the folk musician, not the Canadian rocker) has a bunch of these. I can't think of a specific one right now...

I've always really enjoyed the opening of Jon and Vangelis' "The Friends of Mr. Cairo."

I've always liked "Atlantis" by Donovan.

Might be cheating because it was released as an album track later, but “When The Tigers Broke Free” was the intro to "In the Flesh?" in the movie "The Wall" and it's haunting.
