Keeping up with the Jones's, er, Jonas's?

While exploring our local strip mall earlier, I saw two black Tesla Plaid's in the parking lot. One had personalized vanity plates, and the other was fresh off the showroom floor w/ temporary paper plates..., plus the windows had different tinting. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, we pulled up next to a white Plaid on the way home, which mind you, was only three blocks away.

OK, OK, we weren't really "exploring"; we went to Walgreens for our second booster, and their shipment was running late, so spousal unit wanted an ice cream, and we hiked a block down the street to Coldstone to satisfy her...., that's what begat the flock/herd/hum/gaggle/pride/murder/whir, um, er, battery of Telsas.

How about a Hum of Teslas? Or a Whir?

There's a deli at the corner of the strip mall that attracts the well-heeled, elderly crowd during lunch/afternoon hours, so you see a lot of high end cars there with a high degree of regularity. Beside the two black Plaid's, was a new black Corvette.... it was wishing for the yoke style steering wheel from the Plaid's.

All the fancy cars were either white, silver/gray, or black.... only spoiled by an orange/gold Hyundai SUV that snuck in there. Musta been a youngster's car. Personally, I like bright colors, even though I'm a only a former youngster. You can bet virtually all of the fancy cars seen at that lot have been pampered, and never been driven at thresholds anywhere near their capability.

It was the white Plaid a couple of blocks later that had me shaking my head.

I hope you challenged the Plaids to a drag race.

Well, I was "driving" my 1996 heavy duty walker (that I've been pushing around the country since 1999) when we first saw 'em...., so unless somebody welded their doors shut, I'd bet on Plaid. When we pulled up on the white one, traffic was pretty heavy, and our ancient Sienna needs brakes, so probably not a good bet either..... though the white Plaid did have a rather sedate looking lady driver that appeared to be at least in her 50's, or probably 60's; so if I had a decent ride to compete with, I mighta been able to take her.

Looks can be deceiving. Just saying.
