Will we/I have to update IOS to use Turbotax next year?

Currently running my nice Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, with Catalina.

Even though my taxes are done, and sent off, I remember this message when I sent them off.

Do you think I will need to upgrade to a new computer, or do you think that TurboTax will still work with Catalina next year?

This is why I switched to H&R Block. None of that foolishness... when there's really no need.

Its my goal to find another product to use and assist others in doing the same. There will be some up front work but in the long run it should save both money and sanity.

Yes.

Intuit requires that you run the app on a currently-supported OS.

Apple will stop supporting Catalina in October.

...

I've tried H&R Block. The software is way clunkier than Turbo Tax, the documentation -- especially for tax-forms -- is largely missing, the online and telephone help is basically non-existent. I gave up on H&R Block and went with Turbo Tax online at the last minute.

I'd recommend test installing Monterey on an external SSD using OCLP which looks like it'll work fine on your machine.

Read the following:

That would definitely be good enough to run Turbotax, but maybe it'll give a couple of years of added use of the MBP.

I have installed Catalina on an older Mac using the Dosdude Patcher, and all works well.

I really think this MacBook Pro from 2012 is a sweet machine. All the ports, and quite upgradeable...

THanks, WIll take a look at above...link
