as discussed here before.

my local college AAA station, WFUV, (which is now more of an 80s revival & copy station with an occasional non computerized track thrown in. But I guess that's what the kids are diggin' today. Where's Gary Numan when you don't need him?) has a daily bit with Corny in the AM, Question of the Day.

Today, on the occasion of everybody has Mexican heritage day, the QoD was songs in Spanish by Mexican heritage artists.
(although I'm fairly sure that Mexicans did not speak Spanish until the Spanish Conquistadors f'kd them up. But whatevs.)

Linda Ronstadt sang La Charreada from her LP Canciones de Mi Padre.

Yeow!

I'm all out of El Tesoro Reposado .....

Alisa Ali (10:00 am-2:00 pm) plays more new stuff. What you're describing sounds more like Dennis Elsas 2:00 pm-6:00 pm .

PS-WFUV is available on the webs. Recommended.

the lot of them play too much repeat of the new and the same old tracks.
They can play some new stuff like AM radio when I was a kid. Then the new song you liked you can't ever hear again.

FUV directive has changed since Russ became MD and music streaming started stepping on great radio.

I like the lot of them for a few hours. But when I hear Billy Gibrish, Cornflake Girl, Arcade Snooze, Dawes and other drivel, I switch to my own Tuneange.

The best month for FUV is BHM coz then they dig deeper in R&B and actually play old school jazz.

Thankfully, they are mostly all very knowledgeable of all kinds of music and don't talk out the butts too often.

Denis played High Masekela, Kinky Reggae, Patti, No Expectations, Amy Winehouse, Emmylou, Tanita, Big Star, Janis, G Parker, Barrett Strong, & Flash in the Pan among others while I was out burning $4.19 petrol.
Hardly a mass of 80s.

They all have their moments, but they all repeat the new waaaaaay too much.

I do travel with them on the interwebs and only seldom resort to local comm stations, coz they mostly suck. XPK is pretty good.
