Anyone doing QR codes regularly? Need a recommendation for a free or reasonably priced solution

Have a client looking to use a QR code for a particular program/process their business operates. It has been a LONG time since I last did anything with these, but I'm aware there are different ways of creating and tracking/managing them over time. For this particular situation, it's a pretty simple need--they are just looking to allow their employees to scan the code and get taken to a web form to enter some information.

I don't think they really care about tracking usage or anything fancy like that. It's just an easy vehicle to send people to a web form.

Any particularly good options I should be looking at? I don't mind paid if it's a reasonable cost. Free is great if there is something reliable without anything nefarious going on behind the scenes or if there is any danger of it going away.

A QR code is just a bar code. For an internal process I wouldn't use a full url, just an identifying code.

I'm not sure what might be needed to manage them.

Perhaps instead of thinking 'QR code' think barcode and you might be asking a better set of questions.

I think Chrome does it by default.

Edit: Confirmed. In the address bar there's a 'SHARE' icon like an arrow from a box. Click on that and it gives you an option to generate a QR code.

I want something that is universally functional and works with any smartphone camera app. I assume most barcodes don't work that way. Hence the desire to have a QR code. It's a low-friction way to allow someone to use their phone to point it at something and then enter some info in a form.

I use QRcode monkey, free, works fine. even has a few options.

As long as you don't want tracking...

Im not a chrome user, but would imagine there are extensions for other browsers.

thanks, all. Sounds like there are some decent free options I could run with.

Will talk things through further with client to make sure their use case works with one of these options.
