Going to replace our small window air conditioners which are old and seemingly worn out. Anyone have access to Consumer Reports or know of any testing sites which are trustworthy?

I think the ID width of our smaller windows are 22 inches ...

If the rooms are close enough together, and/or small enough, a mini-split can handle more than one room.

We're actually set up for mini splits on both sides of this house. We did it in 2005 or so but both mini split units are now toast. The house is set up with electricity, plumbing and etc for them but because they didn't seem to last very long for the price (Samsung) I'm not crazy about updating them. It cost a fortune and they did not last.

I just did a quick google search. Mini Splits usually last about 15-20 years, compared to 12-15 for a conventional unit. Window A/Cs usually last about 5-10 years.
