The Equalizer Renewed for 2 Seasons

....Robyn McCall’s quest for justice will keep going. CBS announced Thursday that The Equalizer has been renewed for not one, but two more seasons.

The supersized renewal guarantees that the Queen Latifah hit will run at least four seasons, through 2024.

“The Equalizer continues to pack a powerful punch on Sunday nights, and we’re thrilled to have it back for two more seasons,” Thom Sherman, CBS Entertainment’s Senior EVP of Programming, said in a statement. “The success of The Equalizer is due to the sum of its parts – an outstanding cast led by the superb Queen Latifah, plus the exceptional creative team that has continued to evolve their storytelling with a compelling mix of everyday justice, family dynamics and real-world issues that connect and resonate with audiences.”

As of May 4, The Equalizer this season was averaging 9.5 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating (with Live+7 playback), ranking No. 4 and No. 3 among the 14 dramas CBS has aired this TV season.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller, who created the series, are stepping down as showrunners. They will be succeed by Joseph C. Wilson, who has worked on the series since Season 1, Adam Glass (The Chi).....

The show’s 10-episode second season dropped in February, shaking up the lives of everyone in Serenity. (Spoilers ahead!) After much deliberation, Dana Sue invited Ronnie back into her heart and home; Helen suffered a miscarriage, grew closer to Erik, then was blindsided by a proposal from Ryan; and Maddie discovered violent skeletons in Cal’s closet, followed by the biggest revelation of all — that Bill is Isaac’s father......

Julia Renewed for Season 2 at HBO Max

....HBO Max is ordering seconds of Julia, renewing the Julia Child-themed comedy series for Season 2. The pickup comes on the eve of the show’s Season 1 finale.

Starring Sarah Lancashire in the titular role and David Hyde Pierce as Julia’s husband, Julia debuted March 31 on the streamer.

“Julia Child tends to make people happy. In a bleak world, she is a welcome balm,” EPs Chris Keyser and Daniel Goldfarb said in a statement. “Making this show has done the same for us. Working with our cast — with Sarah and David — our production team, writers, directors and editors, who have become our friends, makes us happy. In the language of Julia, it feeds our souls. The genuine love and care that HBO Max has shown for our show has been overwhelming. They allowed us to tell the simple story of a group of remarkable, oddball, passionate people, who joyfully live their lives to the fullest. That we get to keep them alive for another season makes us the happiest of all, and we are already hard at work.”.....

Here’s to more chest hair, pussy bow blouses and tasteful nudes in Season 2.”.....*****d.....?!
