iPod Touch Completely Sold Out in Apple's US Store Just Days After Being Discontinued

.....Just days after being discontinued, the last iPod, the seventh-generation iPod touch, has officially sold out in Apple's US online store.

Yesterday, we reported that some configurations of the iPod touch were being marked as "sold out" in Apple's US store. Now, all iPod touch models in all configurations are entirely sold out.

Apple marked the end of an era this week when it announced it would be ending the iconic iPod brand and product lineup. The iPod served as Apple's foundation and made it a household name years before the iPhone.

"We've integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone?to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV," said Apple's Greg Joswiak on Tuesday, announcing the iPod's discontinuation.

Substituting the iPod, Apple says the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the latest iPhone SE, paired with the second-generation AirPods or the $550 AirPods Max, offer the best Apple Music and audio experience.

I got one of the original iPods new for Xmas back in…2001? Finally sold it on eBay a few years ago. The guy originally offered around the initial purchase price, but when I was ready to send it off, the firewire port stopped charging. This guy wasn’t too concerned (?), but IIRC, I cut $150 off the price since it was listed as a functioning one in the auction, and became non-functioning as a result.

Anyway, now I’m afraid to look on eBay and see what a v 1.0 is going for currently.

I should revisit my box of iPods...

I almost left an old, not sure which vintage but probs early, iPod touch in my husband’s car I just sold.
I had completely forgotten I had hooked it to the audio system. Luckily I saw it in the glove box, when I was cleaning out the car to sell.
I need to see how much of a charge it will hold and what’s on it.

One of the nice things about the older iPod Classic style (one of which resides in my car) is that the user can change out the battery relatively easily.

On the down side, however, the Classic-style iPods are not CarPlay compatible. I am able to control my iPod Classic using the controls mounted on the steering wheel, but I am certain that won't be the case with the next car I own.

Carvana had the best offer, by a lot, so I sold it to them.
I did have to get it retitled into my name, but luckily that only took about a week, so the offer didn’t expire.
It cost about $100 to get the title transferred, but the Carvana offer was 3-4K more than the other offers, so it was worth it.
The process was as smooth as silk and they brought a check when they took the car.
I would highly recommend Carvana, if you are selling a car.
