In the dark, probably 3. In the light where I can see the symbol on the plug, usually 1, though if I'm not paying attention it might be 2.

I put a little dab of white acrylic paint on the top of a USB connector.

I get it right 100% of the time.

On the rare occasion when I get it right the first time, I always pull it out and turn it over, because I'm sure it can't be correct.

Though I've found that not all USB ports are oriented in the same direction from one device to another.
Do you also dab paint on on all your devices so you can match the dabs?

old style USB goes in logo up - once you get this, it's easy to get it in one

I think it went to four or five, even after looking at the port and looking at the plug and determining which way it goes in. Rarely do I get it right the first time, and often it's three times.

Now repeatedly plugging it in ranges from one to three.
