Okay, not quite in the house. But it’s going to be out in the shed that was once the horses (they also have a barn). It’s beautiful! Kubota L2501 with LA526 loader, agricultural tires, hydrostatic transmission. I can’t wait to have a minute to play with it! I’ve been waiting for five months for it to get here.

You must have got the 4WD model seeing as the 2WD model doesn't have the "hydrostatic transmission".

It was around $26K if I remember correctly. Much less than the 4Runner, argh.

We have horses, a big vegetable garden, and about 10 wooded acres on top of that… so will use a brush hog(trail maintenance), move compost and manure, groom the riding arena, and plow snow. For starters! I’m also putting in a pondless waterfall, and there’s always other digging to do.

I want to get the sunshade for it, but it went from $300 to $500. Even aftermarket.

I swear the hour meter is inaccurate. Is that possible? It came with 4 hours on it, I used it for literally 5 minutes on Friday and about 90 minutes on Saturday - it says 8 hours now.

With engine control units, they can program anything so that’s just for warranty purposes. After your warranty expires, it’ll begin to keep accurate hours.

Since you have a loader, be sure to have a system for proper counterweight.
This could be fluid-filled rear tires, wheel weights, or a heavy attachment on the 3-point hitch.

If you are new to running tractors, Tractor Mike's YouTube channel is quite helpful.


A rule of thumb, if your ROPS is up and in position (some fold down), always wear a seatbelt so the ROPS can protect you from getting squished. If you do not have the ROPS in place, never wear the seatbelt so that you can jump clear and not get squished.

As for you hour meter, did it have to recharge? My older JD doesn’t have a recharge cycle as it predates those pollution laws.

I plowed snow on my gravel driveway using my loader. I’ve moved composted manure as well. Don’t buy counter weights IMO, just spend the money on a rear attachment that’s heavy, like a box blade or plow. Rim guard is also good for ballast.

I also got the titan front loader pallet forks. It’s great for cleaning the yard as you can drop fallen trees and twigs on it. Good for 1500 lb, which exceeds my bucket, so I will never use it to the max.
