I FINALLY decided on the upgrade to my 2012 mini
I have ordered a refurb space gray M1 Air that should be here Wednesday.
This assures that the Air will get updated next month and not later in the year, as I really think, but hey, I haven’t taken one for the team in a while.

I went to Microcenter this afternoon and decided that this would give me more flexibility to use it downstairs, or wherever, and I can hook it up to my old display, with an adapter/hub or my husband’s Viewsonic monitor, also with an adapter. I was about to just get it from Microcenter for $929, but I looked online and Apple had the refurbs for $849, which seemed like too much of a difference to pass up, since they carry a full one year warranty anyway.

I will need a USB B to Thunderbolt cable or a hub so that I can print to my old Brother printer that does not support wireless printing, but that’s what Amazon is for, right?

Anyway, thanks for all the advice and hand holding. I appreciate it. I have been under a lot of stress lately and making decisions has been more difficult.

I think this machine will suit me well. Fingers crossed for maybe a silent upgrade.

Now that I think about it, I should be able access the printer through my Mac mini, printer sharing, so I don’t need that connection after all.
I could use the hub though for the external display connection, which I might use, and maybe for the SD card reader.

Pre leader! Both my daughters love theirs... all day battery is key for them.

this is the hub we use, basic, but gets the job done. mostly just used for a larger monitor and pass thru power. We have wireless everything else, and all their classwork is in the cloud -- so USB ports or card readers are never used. Im sure there are others if you need more.

The one thing I found worthwhile is a magsafe adaptor. This is what I've been using, works well but I do wish the magnet was just a bit stronger.
