Recommend old time radio shows

I'm going to be doing more driving than normal so I'm looking for some old radio shows to listen to. The Shadow is a given. What would be your other recommendations?

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.

The Lone Ranger, and the Outer Limits. The Outer Limits shows were actually done about 2 decades ago, and sometimes you can recognize voices you know. Some sort of PBS-related production I think. WE love them for road trips.

Back when satellite radio started, one of my co workers had one of those moveable head units in his truck. You could pull it out, and slot it into a boom box. He wired the munitions dispensing building with a satellite antenna, and we listened to Howard Stern and the Lone Ranger all day. Or Hawaiian music CDs. He was a very eclectic man.

Another favorite:

Jack Webb also did Pat Novak for Hire on radio. He plays a kind of down-on-his-luck sarcastic private eye — the opposite of his character on the Dragnet TV show. The sound quality doesn’t seem quite as good as other shows but listening to his remarks makes me smile.

My fave was always Fibber McGee & Molly, though the actual name most seasons was The Johnson Wax Program.

I found Jack Benny's comedy held up well across the decades; Fred Allen's not so much.

I really like Suspense and Escape.

Yeah, we picked up a set of Suspense from the local library for a family road trip 15-20 years ago. The kids (teens!) really liked it.

How about some modern day folks with old time radio coursing through them like Texaco gasoline?

Gregg Taylor and his crew at Decoder Ring Theater* have created what I’m guess as hundreds of hours of new old time radio that is nothing short of pitch perfect.

The series “The Red Panda Adventures” and “Black Jack Justice” are the featured players, but there’s also the Showcase with gorgeous shiny baubles like “Bix Banderson vs. The Universe” and “Abagail Branagan” Girl Detective.

Warning: Do not drink and listen. Otherwise you’re going to have more drink coming out of your nose than going into your belly.

*You can also just search “Decoder Ring Theater” in your podcast app, and all the good stuff will appear.

The rabbit says "I dunno. I'm only here because of Autocorrect.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I've got a few Amos & Andy radio shows I downloaded a few years back. They are funny, Ol' Kingfish is always "putting the britches" on them.

Holy Moly I never knew there were so many to choose from! I've grabbed a few (The Shadow, Father Knows Best, Sam Spade, Dragnet) but I'll be getting at least some of these suggestions. Thanks!
