Very nice sale! I used a graphics program called RagTime in lieu of Quark for a while around '08-'12 ish...loved it, simple to use and did what I wanted it to do; alas, last I checked they quit updating it. I'm guessing these are the same good quality. Hell, even their regular prices are cheap.

My wife and daughter are fully vested in their offerings -- mostly b'c we could never really afford to get them into Adobe.

I'm still with Adobe b'c my company pays my monthly fee (mostly for InDesign) but I'm slowly starting to rebuild forms and the like via Affinity Publisher. I very much like it. Still, I have 22 (+/-) years' worth of InDesign forms filed away. They're universally exported as PDFs (that's how I distributed them to my clients) so I would always have an openable record of them if I dropped the Adobe Suite, but it's hard to walk away from that long a history.

Probably going to pick up at least one. I don’t do a lot of page layout type work these days so it’ll probably be the illustration app. Though I really like the photo editing app too. I don’t want to bust my budget. Makes me kind of wish they had some type of studio package. Oh well, not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

How easy is their software to use? I need to do graphic creation/photo editing maybe twice a year, and the user interface for Acorn makes me crazy-I can't find anything!

I'm guessing a lot better, but I've never used Acorn so I couldn't say for sure.

I use Affinity Photo and it seems pretty easy to use. My only complaint is the interface is not exactly like Photoshop CS3, but even newer versions of Photoshop are not exactly like CS3.

Even though I still pony up for Photoshop and continue to use Illustrator CS6 I have purchased every Affinity app as soon as they were released. I really believe in what they are doing and supporting them.

PSA: While I believe in supporting Affinity and I own all the apps, I recommend checking if you already own them before ordering. In the past, I nearly double-dipped. I still use CC so I haven't gotten around to learning or using any of the Affinity apps. At least not yet.

They are 50% off in the Mac app store as well. Also, if you are an EDU purchaser it is half off the 50% off if you purchase more than 20 licenses.

Switched over from Adobe CS6 a couple of years ago. Really happy with these apps!

Another vote here for Affinity!

It's worth the patience to figure out the various differences from Adobe and get them to feel as familiar. I find it's just close enough to trip me up sometimes, but always worth the effort.
