For me anyway....



Not my first Rivian rodeo, but the first Glacier White R1T I've seen.
This is an artist's interpretation of the one I saw cruising near the beach earlier today.
The one I saw had a bunch of add-ons all over it, which were done in attractive fashion....
and, it had a temporary license plate.
Heckuva time for my phone to be stuck in the back seat.

Party in OC mañana at BIL/SIL's house, and their neighbor is a Rivian exec..., so we'll try to park our SUV proximal for a photo op.

Rivian has moved to the top of my list (if they survive).

Got to crawl all over one (no test drive) and was very impressed. SO crawled all over the Lightning at the NY Auto Show and wasn’t impressed. Plus Ford is jacking up the price.

Saw a Ford Maverick in the wild today.

I say "saw" because I didn't hear it. Dead silent.

I saw a Rivian drive by me today. Th vehicle seemed larger to me than what I perceived in pictures.

I believe federal law says they need to make a certain amount of noise up to 35 MPH to warn pedestrians. My 2014 does but my wife’s 2013 does not so I assume that is the time period when the law took effect. Mine sounds like a well muffled ICE car when in D, L or R even when not moving, no noise in N or P, my wife’s is silent except for tire noise and heating/cooling ventilation fan. Occasionally I have had to tell close bystanders that I’m going to begin to put her Volt into motion so that they don’t decide to walk in front of it at that very moment.
