Does anyone know what advantages 13" Macbook Pro over the Air? Does it have a larger battery ? Better to save the $100?

MKBHD made a very succinct argument specifically on that topic. [youtu.be]

1. MBP has a fan
2. MBP has a Touch Bar (not an advantage IMHO)
3. MBP is available to order, MBA not yet, to my knowledge.

I'd go for the MBA

Save your money for USB-C cables, flash drives, etc

I'd grab the M2 at this point.

I assume you mean the Air, and I agree—but they are both actually M2.

I'm still considering the 14" or 16" M1 Pro at this point, but I I'm tempted to get a M2 Air instead, and get a next gen desktop down the road.

Ah, pfft, I think the air is more 'bang for the buck' but the pro has better cooling. No bad options.

I'm hoping the Pro and Max M2 versions come out about when I'm due a laptop refresh from work. In the fall.

The fan is only important if you will be rendering for more than 30 minutes at a time.

I'd go for the Air and get an external desk fan to blow across it if you need a cooling fan.

Time to start spending that 529 money on my college-bound offspring.

Was waiting for the M2 MBP and realized that the M2 Air was looking better.

A little off topic but here is a comparison between m2 and m1 pro. M1 pro is better then m2 at least theoretically
