I did a lot of those deals in the early aughts and never activated the cards. It had no effect on my credit.

You forget that you didn't activate it and when it's time to use it, it can't be used.

Same thing happened to – a friend.

I have no idea if you can activate it six months later.

So activate it and put it a way, or cut it up and throw it away.

Or, activate it and cut it up and throw it away.

Or...

Well, you get the idea.

I have found that the automated online or phone activation has a time limit that can be overridden in many cases by an actual phone call to the service center number for the card. Depends on the policies of the issuing financial institution. I have done this a few times with cards that came in nondescript envelopes that got set aside as possible junk mail.

.....it's like 'Wonder Twin' powers.....if you don't activate.....then you can't 'form of.....' or 'shape of......'

Q: What happens if I don't "activate my card today!" ?
A: You can try again tomorrow!

....nothing will probably happen.....they may send you email or letter to confirm that you have received the card......if it hasn't been activated, then it can't be used/stolen, so they won't 'cancel' it......
