I'm thinking I might want to create a couple of ringtones.
And by ringtones, I mean ringtones that aren't song bits that play for 30s.
That's daft.
I'd like to have some sounds that run for just 1s or so, pause, then repeat, just like a traditional telephone ringer.
To do that, a desired sound will have to be found and trimmed, if necessary to the desired length of the ring, say 1s more or less.
Then I'll need some silences for the interval between rings, say 3s or so.
This should yield a 4s or so ring that will ring, pause, repeat until the phone is answered or the call goes to voice mail.
There are several tutorials on how to convert a song to a ringtone, but I have seen anything about adding desired silence after the initial sound.
How do I do that?
Currently, I've added one tone that's a British ring as heard by the caller, not the callee.
It's my favorite and has some silence as part of the file, but the ring itself is far too quiet, so I'll need to find a better version, and that hasn't been easy.
I'd also like to get a default iPhone (Marimba, etc) and ramp up the beginning of the sound.
Somebody's mom needs the ring LOUD so she can hear it at a small distance, but she jumps at every call if the 'Phone is within 10'.
Any hints on that would be welcome.
