Just saw this in the news
"He was assigned to a mortar squad led by Donald Malarkey...(and) involved in virtually every major engagement in Europe during World War II"

I am grateful for what he and his company did, and I am glad we learned about their story.

The other great story is With the Old Breed, most of the source material, for "the Pacific"
