Need to buy oil pressure gauge. What to look for?

I need one, probably from Amazon, for a 1998 Camry 6 cylinder. I haven’t looked in person, but I think the sender is easy to get to. There are $30 ones with hoses, lots of various brass adapters, and a red case, and cheaper ones with just a gauge and two brass adapters. I won’t use it much but I would like one with plenty of utility. I also realize it will be a presumably crappy Chinese one. What do I need to know before I check the pressure and replace the sender? Can anyone recommend a specific one they know to be good and reasonably priced?

Why do you believe the sending unit is bad?

You can probably rent the tester from Autozone or O'Reilly and it will have all the adapters. No sense in purchasing a one off tool.

The oil pressure light came on. I’m not sure it’s the sending unit; I just want to make sure it’s not the oil pump and that the pressure is OK.

O’Reilly didn’t have one and that’s our only store. Plus I don’t want to drive it to town or tow it. I bet rent wouldn’t be much less that buying one. Also, syncing up my helper’s schedule with mine and my health and the weather would be hard.

The switch itself is less than $10 at Rock Auto. Pop in a new one and if the light is still on,scrap the car.

Yep, not that expensive...just had it replaced in my 1996 4-cylinder Camry along with a dead PCV valve.
