MacBook Pro with M1 Pro vs M1 Max?

Time to buy a laptop and I could use some advice. I’m replacing a 2013 MacBook Pro 15” which is mostly used for email and web browsing. Pricing is $2500 (1tb SSD, 16gb ram, 16”) vs $3200 (1tb SSD, 32gb ram, 16”). I’m leaning towards the lower end. Thoughts?

I'd go with the lower end as well.

You would be, like me, a perfect customer for 15" MBA priced at about 2099.
An MBA with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is $1899 at apple.com

At the same specs, the 16" is only $200 more than the 14"
14" 16GB, 1TB, $2499
16" 16GB, 1TB $2699

so the delta for the 16" screen Is $200

That would Make a hypothetical 15" MBA $2099. Perfect for my needs.

Yah, I’ve always enjoyed the larger screen on the MacBook Pro without really needing the horsepower. I decided not to think about it anymore and just ordered the MBP M1 Pro at the lower cost. I think it will be a big upgrade for me.
