tubular bells came up in shuffle tonite.
it is meaningless & tiresome now without a bag of crappy weed, a bottle of crappy Cuervo and my girlfriend of my early 20s.
Musta made Sir Branson a pot full of $$$ and his Fisker Karma.

The shorter, single radio version or full, orchestral album version?

Did it exorcise any demons?

I don't drink or smoke, and love Tubular Bells.

Meaningless, maybe, but that's subjective and it's irrelevant to me.

It could be tiresome I suppose, if I listened to it three or four times, sure.

Cruising down the road, it's not for me.

But kicked back in a comfy chair, eyes closed, I love it.

Well, full disclosure I do FF past the snarling, growling devouring of children bit.

At least that's how I like to interpret that.

I've not seen this and not heard TB since probably when it first came out, but this video appeared in my YouTube sidebar the past few days.

Mike Oldfield has created a lot of other music besides TB over the years, most of it I really like. I have been a fan since first hearing TB in Quad when first released and have seen him both times that he came to perform in NYC. Much like Kate Bush, his music is probably not for many here in the States but he’s still a huge draw in Europe.

Love Kate Bush. Think she is still pretty well known and popular of our generation and a new generation as Running Up that Hill has been in Stranger Things.

Although my spouse can't stand her.
She once threatened to climb a tree and throw me off it if I played her music.
Though she feels that way about a lot of modern woman musicians/singers.
Except perhaps Neko, Kathleen Edwards, Shannon McNally, Margo Price and a handful of others.

The only other she can't stand more is Joni. But that's because her college roomies played her 1st 5 LPs endlessly. I could see that.
I dig C&S and the next 5 after.

Lol, I’m a big Joni fan too going back to the mid 70s, saw her with Jaco and Metheny at Forrest Hills on the Shadows and Light tour and later on the Wild Things Run Fast tour. My wife can’t stand her singing but surprising she liked KB’s Running Up That Hill when I told her about her new found success with the show. But I won’t play her anything else because I just know the look I’ll get.

Another Joni fan here, but also a Kate Bush fan.

My first Kate CD was The Sensual World, followed by Hounds of Love, then The Kick Inside.

The only way for me to enjoy those albums were to play them straight through.

Listening to individual songs just wasn't nearly as fulfilling as a whole album.
