BONUS! I get to water landscape two days in a row.

My town has a water restriction.
Even number addresses water on even dates, odd number on odd dates.

My house number is 569, so....

No car washing, no lawn sprinklers, only hand held hoses, guessing most
would get bored and water less.
Also, topping off of swimming pools is BANNED!

Yup, that's how it's worded, odd/even days for landscape,
but don't top off your pool, THAT IS BANNED!

STL got 8 inches of rain in 5 hours last Tuesday. Major flooding everywhere. And then 5 inches last Thursday. More flooding. And it’s supposed to rain more this week.

Welcome to climate change. The west is increasingly becoming desert, and the central valleys are slated to get more precipitation and increased temperatures.

Most people around here have come to realize that a lawn is the devil's spawn

Works out that way. Town was founded on a field next to the Green River. Dave may be watering, I haven't been bothering to at my house elsewhere in town.

Much of the Northeast is currently experiencing drought. I haven't looked at numbers recently, but rainfall is well off the normal level for the year so far.

NOT watering the lawn, although it looked like brown crunchy August grass 3 weeks ago. All I'm watering is the flowers, etc. it the landscaping around the house.

I encourage my lawn to stay a nice even shade of brown. It means less mowing.

What lawn? In Cali those are only for football fields and golf courses! But seriously, no lawn or grass here for more than 15 years. Just lots of invasive plants that look nice and green for a few weeks in the spring and then turn brown and die by June. Someday there will be a nice "landscaped' yard.

Someday.

We've had 11 inches in the last 3 weeks in NW Georgia. It's been spotty but everybody seems to have gotten some. Today the weather guy showed the drought map and it still shows drought in this area. He said it would be updated on Thursday. We haven't watered the flowers for these 3 weeks. Crazy to have that happen in July. Having said that, I really feel for the west and other areas that are drying up.
