Epson Color Stylus 880 not dead, but not working.

It's been a workhorse for years and is happy with generic ink carts, so I have no real complaints with it. But late this afternoon it printed out two pages of a four page document, then stopped and the paper feed light came on. Fast forward to now and I've visually checked for any jams, restarted, unplugged the USB cable, repaired permissions on the Mac and even done a self-test with the printer (which it passed with flying colors). However, when I see the 880 in my printer menu, it has that exclamation point next to it. And all it says in the Printer Setup menu is stopped All the menu items to pause or resume jobs are greyed out.

Any ideas (besides tossing the printer out)?

Delete printer and then re-add...

I have two 880's that use Ink4Art ink., and they have been running fine.

I know occasionally I have dealt with small blockges of the ink, and followed the utility to clear that up.

And locally there is a place in Redondo Beach, that has a good guy for helping with LaserPrinters. His name is Moe.

In the past when I was searching for help with the Epsons, my search brought me back to his site. Searching for Epson Printer problems.

Here is a link for the first one I saw on a google search for Epson Printer 880
