Can you use Windex in you car windshields washer? Maybe diluted?

It's okay to spray on your windows to clean manually, assuming you rinse the overspray adequately. As mentioned in PeterW's link, there are multiple problems using it was washer fluid.

A gallon bottle of generic blue fluid from the auto parts store is usually much better for cars. Even better is a name brand like 20/10, or pay the stealership for OEM blinker* washer fluid.

*kidding about blinker fluid.

If you use Windex at all to clean car windows, get the ammonia free formula. And still not in your car’s windshield cleaner system.

For interior car glass I just use a mix of water and white vinegar.

Sightly OT- I am a fan of the orange RainX washer fluid. After sufficient use it really allows the rain to roll off the windshield, meaning less use of the wipers.

Another RainX fan here. I always get annoyed when a repair shop fills it with blue stuff. I don't use wipers at highway speed, unless mrs. cbelt3 is in the car, because it freaks her out.

The trouble with the "traditional" auto windshield cleaners is that they are horrible for the environment. I've been looking for years to replace them with something a bit more benign, to no avail. I've tried vinegar and iso alcohol, it works but is not soapy enough and smells in a different way.

I use Glass Plus because it's always worked better for me than Windex.

It doesn't go in the fluid tank, though.

That reminds me, I need to get some washer fluid for the tank.

Since we get next to no rain for years at a time, I also use Soft Scrub a couple times a year, one of them just before the few rainy days.
