Tesla was $620 a few months ago, a golden opportunity. It’s now $920.

It was under $700 just a couple WEEKS ago...

I think it'll hit $2000/share, but only after 4-6 more quarters of above estimated growth in deliveries... that is, really good ramping of Berlin and Austin.

More energy produced by Tesla solar than was used to produce (and charge) their cars.

Lots of FUD still out there on lifetime CO2 emissions of EV’s versus ICE. Long story short, EV’s are far better than ICE already, and will simply get better as time moves on.

Battery recycling already being done by Tesla. Their approach is to grind up the batteries, essentially treating it as high grade ore.

SpaceX and Tesla are No.’s 1 & 2 where engineers want to work.

The real "hat trick" is those engineers who have ended up working for BOTH...

I'll take it! My tesla holdings would make up a large percentage of my retirement holdings.

I spoke to several engineers who have a different opinion. Tesla burned though a lot on engineers in Silicon Valley.

My next car will probably be a Tesla Model Y, but I doubt that working at Tesla is the place to be.

I don't doubt that there are good jobs at Tesla, but Musk gives every impression of being a nightmare to work for.

I think that Tesla is going from figures released by some kind of official poll or something.

I too talked to a few young SpaceX and Tesla engineers in the SF/Silicon Valley area several weeks ago, and they said it doesn’t really bother them. They cared more about the work they were doing.

Personally speaking, as I’m an aerospace engineer myself, I would want to be at SpaceX. Yeah, I'd have been disappointed by Musk's antics, but they aren't to the point I'd want to work elsewhere. Of course now in that I'm older, the days of working that hard for long hours no longer appeals to me (and thanks to Tesla's stock price i don't have to). But if I wanted to get back in it, I'd either work for SpaceX or go for some big money low hour contract job elsewhere.

He is. Just like Steve Jobs was. But like Apple under Steve Jobs, people put up with it because it was the best and most exciting work they've done in their lives. This is why companies like Apple can hire the very best. To be a part of history, and something exciting.

Abusing people doesn't lead to better results, but yes, people might put up with it to be part of a unique project.

It may be a matter of semantics, but I wouldn’t call it abuse. More to the point, whatever managerial style Jobs and Musk used, it produced significantly, orders of magnitude better results, than the competition. Maybe it wasn’t the ‘abusive’ style that produced those results, perhaps it was some other aspect of their managerial style. Whatever the case they got far better results than the rest of the industry.

I bought back in at $1094 after selling at $1200 so I’d have lost a fair amount except that I sold over 90% of my equities and planned to buy real estate back in April. But I didn’t and now the cash sits in my bank account. I doubt that the markets have bottomed yet. We’ll see - but I’m good for now. Fortunately my tax burden will not be great on my gains as we will only have about $10k in income this year which was just enough to cover all our Medicare/supplement/out-of-pocket medical costs.

He doesn’t abuse people. He expects ALOT from them. Likely more than anyone has ever asked.

This is consistent with what I've read. SpaceX and Tesla are not EASY places to work, but they are rewarding places to work if you can keep up.

Damn. I missed that buying opportunity. I have not checked any of my investment accounts in several months, not wanting to get spooked. My TLSA shares were up close to 1500% at one point. I'm not sure where they are now.
