.....no cause...

Roger E. Mosley, Magnum, P.I.'s Theodore 'T.C.' Calvin, Dead at 83 — Reboot's Stephen Hill Reacts

.....Roger E. Mosley, best known for playing helicopter pilot Theodore “T.C.” Calvin on the CBS crime drama Magnum, P.I., died early Sunday morning. He was 83.

His daughter, Ch-a Mosley, confirmed the news via Facebook writing: “He was surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully. We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

No cause of death was given, however, his daughter also posted early Saturday morning that the actor was involved in a recent car accident that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down and in critical condition.

Mosley starred on the original Magnum P.I. for all of its eight year run between 1980 and 1988. He appeared in 158 episodes (of 162) opposite Tom Selleck. Mosley’s character ran a helicopter business in the show, and was often helping Magnum escape danger by flying him all over Hawai’i. The actor later returned to the rebooted series in 2019 for a cameo, albeit, as a different character named John Booky.....

RIP................?!

It scares me a bit that we are beginning to refer to 83 year olds as "young."

It is what it is.

I'll still say it surprises me Mosley was that old.

Tom Selleck is only 77.

The original Magnum was a great show and Mosley was a big part of the reason, as was Larry Manetti, 75, and John Hillerman, who passed at 84.

The Grim Reaper gets closer every day.

And the new version, with the exception of a couple-three actors, pales in comparison.

RIP, Roger, and 'T C'.

That is sad news. The original Magnum PI is one of my favorite all time shows. I agree the new show pales in comparison. Jay Hernandez just wasn't the right person for the part although I think the other characters were cast extremely well. The camera work is beautiful and it's almost worth watching just for the scenery.

I haven't seen many remakes of old TV shows, so I don't know. My understanding is that they've gone super woke or PC on these remakes. Which would be super boring and tiresome. The only one I've watched was the re-imagined BSG, and that was pretty good. But they actually had things to say.

I feel the same way.

So many are a completely different show trying to cash in on the original show's cachet.

If the name was changed, one would often see no resemblance.

Nor would the show do as 'well'.

Remakes are the puppy mills of TV.

There are very few that are as good as, let alone better, than the original shows.

However, I thought BSG was outstanding.

If a studio or network is going to 'reimagine' a show, why not make it its own show from the jump?

'Let's kick it up a notch — we'll make this character that, and that character this...'

Then there are the 'pre-quels' that have nothing to do with the original character(s).

The Perry Mason remake was an example of cashing in on the cachet.

It wasn't a bad show, on its own, but naming the guy Perry Mason was just wrong.

That brings nothing to the table.
