F/U: Ugh. Dad put Diesel into his Gasoline car. How bad is it?

They replaced the starter under warranty and he paid for spark plugs and labor. His entire bill was:

Of course, towing and car ride more than doubled that but still not bad

They flushed the tank, filled it back up with fresh gas, changed the spark plugs and the entire bill was $85? That seems ridiculously low.

I don't think they filled the tank, that alone would be $85.

But yes, I saw his bill. I did not make that up.

Yep, and mixed into a larger tank the small amount of gasoline in it will not matter.

Of course, as I recall this was in Europe? So expectations on repair prices are different from in the US.

I didn't even think about that. That probably is why the bill was low. They offset the cost of draining the tank with the value of the fuel they got out.
