Any Mint Mobile users? Pros? Cons?

Decided to get off the AT&T wagon I've been on since the covered wagon days, and after comparing Google Fi and others, I think we're going with Mint Mobile. We have 2 lines, and will probably start with the low 4G data for $17/month (including taxes I think).

Anyone else using Mint? Do they have visual text-based VM? I did like that about ATT.

I use Mint with two lines on iPhones. I also moved from AT&T.

I'm on Mint's cheapest plan. I pay for 1 year at a time to maximize the savings and minimize my hassle at making frequent payments.

The voice mail works same as what I had with AT&T as far as I can tell. I select the messages with the iPhone interface. It transcribes the messages into readable text also which I don't remember using with AT&T, but I didn't get many voicemails before I moved both lines to Mint.

From what I can tell, the "wifi calling" feature works better on Mint than AT&T for my purposes. It will use wifi first when it is available instead of AT&T's using wifi only when cellular was unavailable. I have a location (inside a metal barn on our farm) that has a very faint cell signal but a strong wifi. Mint's configuration has been very useful there.

At our rural farm location in the mountains, Mint's T-Mobile service is stronger and has less dead zones around our farm. Both the better signal and the much better price made the switch to Mint from AT&T a no-brainer for me.

Is that like att's Visual Voicemail?

I don't have to sign in to get att voicemails, is it the same with Mint?

I don't have to sign in when checking voice mails on my iPhone. I guess it remembers the password. From what I can see, Mint's voicemail behaves the same as AT&T Visual Voicemail did my iPhone.

I tried Mint once about 4-5 years ago. I was not real happy with the service, it frequently did not connect and/or took a long time to reach the other party when making a call. No VVM at that time, either. TBF, this was a LONNNG time ago, forever ago in wireless terms...so they may be just fine now. I wonder about de-prioritization. Maybe not as big a factor now (like what I faced before) due to better 4g and 5g technology.

$20/mo for 4gb is quite good imo. And the intro $15 for 3 months is kind of a no-brainer. I'm on T-Mo senior 55 basic whatever and for 2 lines of unlimited everything our all-in total is like $65. We've had and been happy with this deal for about 19 months now. Only a few times have I had trouble connecting (de-prioritization I'd guess) and that is in extreme hot temps 97+F. Not sure if the temps are related but that's the only time I've had that issue.

T-Mo also has a $15/mo plan with I think 2.5gb. They gift you another 500 gb yearly if you stay on it. Not a bad plan if you are on wifi most of the time.

The other big (or not?) caveat with these low-tier plans and resellers is you don't get the cool new phone deals; from what I've seen you have to sign up with the upper-tier unlimited plans to get the BOGO, etc. But you can catch deals at Costco or like me, just message T-Mo cs and ask them if they'll give you a discount. I got my 12 Mini this way for less than 1/2 price.
