I think Quark already got all my info when I registered XPress. So it's too late for me to worry about it now. Just don't check any of the boxes.

yeah, that was my point

you cant really run 7 without registering, so who are they hoping to get?

and who doesnt have at least a few spam email addresses in this day and age?

I hate to come off like Pollyanna Sunshine, but maybe they really just want you to be aware of their various mailings in case you are interested in getting them? They have to try to act helpful every once in a while, I would think.

I don't mind email from them, it's usually something I want to see. After all, I got the one above which is giving me the plugin free. They usually aren't an imposing lot. at least email-wise.

I downloaded it for the future. Right now we are on 6 here at work and I believe they are having a $200 sale. However, we don't need 7 right now so I'll have to wait.

They never sent me the link. I emailed customer service. There's actually a good chance it got caught in our server's spam filter -- which is much better at filtering things I actually want than it is at blocking spam.

I haven't checked it out, but maybe they will send the link in the second stage of the process only to e-mail addresses for registered users of Quark. This may be one way for them to limit access against people who have pirated their software.

I am a registered user and I gave them my work email address, which is the one I registered with.

Check your junk folder because mine went there. I also received the link within about 2 minutes if not quicker.

jdc, I tried twice from my work email, then sent a (so far unanswered) email to customer support.

This morning I gave up and used a gmail address, and I got the link almost instantly. So if you still haven't gotten the link, try a different email account.

Well, the answer from customer support got caught in my spam filter. So in fact they had answered it, within an hour or so. Just for the record.
