Yup... "Don't try to catch a falling knife"...
I had enough with the auto industry in the early 00's.. I made about $50 on Ford, then got out...

I bought F @ about $1.50 shortly after the 2007/8 crash.

Good timing... I bought in '01 or '02, I think... and rode it through a dip, then sold. I think my total "up" was enough to cover my trade fees and enough for lunch.
But, I think I bought more AAPL with the proceeds, so, it turned out fine. :-)
