Everyone else seems to have had a hard time with it.

I wasn't aware that a second Shingled vaccine was necessary / or even recommended. I had NO problem with the first vaccination (which was years ago). As a child I did get Chicken Pox.

There's a new shot called Shingrix. it's a two shot protocol. Much more effective than the old one and for that reason my doctor recommended it even though i had the old one.
I think I had some site soreness and fatigue. no biggie for me.

... having had a relatively mild bout of shingles in my early 40's, I would NEVER, ever want to get that again, it was that unpleasant even as a mild case. Got the shots and really didn't have that much of a reaction. My immunologist and I plan on checking my titers sometime this fall.

Don’t get me wrong. My Menieres has come roaring back since June and has been kicking my ass up and down. So ANY kind of hit by a truck feeling that is NOT vertigo related almost makes me happy! With that said, I wouldn’t let it stop me from getting that second shot. And I’m feeling much better this AM.

Yeah 2nd kicked my butt too, which was a surprise as everything I heard from friends who had gotten it was that the 2nd was no big deal
For me, the 1st was bad and the 2nd was worse

Can happen ... just rare, as I'm sure you know. Could be because you got one strain as a child and another in med school.
Shingles is truly the pits... for anyone debating NOT getting the vaccine, do a Google image search on shingles or facial shingles... you've been warned.
