I hope they'll sell equally expensive wheels for it.

---

To be honest, I wouldn't mind spending that much on a garmin watch if I was doing a ton of hiking or something...well, probably not, they have very good models much cheaper than that. I paid half that for mine.

The only reason why I'd get an Apple Watch is for cardiac monitoring.

You have to go to a giant watch with a $1,000 price tag to get an all-day battery-charge?

I think my last Apple Watch was around $600. That’s crazy money to spend every 3 years or so on a watch. No way am I in for $1k.

I know they have less expensive models but I think they are all borderline overpriced. I have an Apple Watch 4 and I really like it but to be honest I don't 100% need it. Maybe I just don't know it's full potential.

I’m not sure there is really a strong need for a digital face the way Apple does it. Most of the things I do with my watch are thru Siri. “Siri set a timer…’ or “Siri tell my wife…” or “Siri add butter to the groceries list”. Apple could switch to an analog screen and I’d be ok. Maybe instead of selling a watch they should aim at having Siri be an option in ALL watches the same way CarPlay is in most cars.

I miss my analog watch, but the health/workout features of the Apple Watch are so darned useful that I can’t easily rationalize going back.

I’m still hoping for that killer new feature: A useful version of Siri.

Activity monitoring is probably the strongest argument for it but obviously there are cheaper ways to accomplish that.

Its a super good product from Apple's perspective, but from a user perspective - why do I need notifications on my wrist?

My brother went into Afib last year and it's quite possible that his Apple Watch saved his life, he had no idea that there was anything wrong. He got to the hospital and sure enough he was in Afib and they him straightened out.

I will note that I sport an AW 7 cellular on my wrist. The pulse ox was very useful when I had COVID-19 part 2. After going hypoglycemic (I'm diabetic type II) and almost falling over, the fall detection is also a comfort. The sleep tracking was amazing and helped me redesign my sleep health.

I wish that Apple had designed in battery replacement or a longer life battery. The idea of spending $$$ for a watch that only lasts 3 years bothers me. But.. it's life insurance.
