Technically it's not a hurricane, it's the offshoot of a cyclone that brought in clouds a bit lower temps and the hope of a Saturday deluge of rain that made it better here in LA.

With a little luck it'll make it to Sacramento and environs before either it or Hal blows out.

We had some thunder off in the distance this morning (I think offshore). Been mostly cloudy/muggy all day here, but temps in high 80° 's spike into the 90° 's when the sun peeks thru. Definitely need rain; just hope it comes in manageable quantities.

That's not a useful link. A hurricane IS a cyclone and strong cyclones occurring in the eastern North Pacific are hurricanes [oceanservice.noaa.gov].
