That article doesn't go into detail on how to accomplish the important first step, which is disconnecting the inside wiring from the outside Telco wiring. That is typically done at the demarcation box with is typically outside where your utilities enter the house.
Inside it, there is what looks like a short phone cord plugged into a phone jack. The jack is the outside wiring the cord is the inside wiring so you just need to unplug it and keep it unplugged since you no longer have telco service. Then all of you inside wiring is disconnected from the outside wiring and all of the inside jacks are wired together so you can connect the Ooma's phone output to any one of them and phones to any of the others.
