South Park, Satire, and the Hare Club for Men.... (kinda spoiler)

Damn...
You know, I used to HATE South Park. The few episodes I saw were just stupid.

Then, out of sheer boredom one day, I watched 5-6 episodes in row while doing some mind numbing task at my reloading bench...

Then like a light going on, I saw the satire (and there are STILL some early episodes that were just not funny and fairly stupid....).

Hare Club for Men...
St. Peter - Rabbit...
Pope Snowball...
And exploding Peeps...

And, as a happy bonus... any show that pokes fun at Scientology, Christianity, Catholocism, Islam, Judaism, and the Mormons EQUALLY is OK in my book!

Only took you a decade!
There is a glimmer of hope.

Actually, the realization came to me a few seasons ago...
I just think that this episode, as satire, was a particularly good one!

(I think the dumbest episodes were the "Mr Hanky" ones.... those pretty much tuned me out for a couple years... didn't know what I was missing with the BETTER episodes)

Hippitus Hoppus

It's sad more 'adults' don't "get it"!

...and Native Americans, Rev. Jesse, Rev. Al, OJ, Michael Jackson, DubYa, Shotgun Dick, Bill, Hilliary, The Dalai Lama....

No one is spared!

I was a dummy tonight in that I didn't recognize the caricature of William
Donahue (who has trashed "South Park") at first -- I thought it was Karl Rove!
I'm still not sure why you dye eggs, though.

South Park has always rocked. Towlie is a god. A stoned, terrycloth god.

Heh! That one was pretty good.

I also wondered what Karl Rove was doing in the story. I've never heard of William Donahue.

The Michael Jackson episode was hilarious. I was LMAO when he was dangling his kid from the balcony.

I laughed pretty loudly through it, too. Then I felt guilty this morning.
Ten years ago, I wouldn't let my sons watch South Park--something they love to remind me of to this day. Now, I call my daughters out to watch it with me. (They are now the same ages as my sons were then. Got that?)
