This was several months ago, so apologies if this is a repost but it's the first I've heard of it. For many years I found the information at Barefeats to be very instructive, and enjoyed the few exchanges I had with Rob directly.

Thanks for posting. I had always read Rob’s reviews before buying a new Mac. His reviews were always backed up with benchmarking data and I found them very useful. Sorry to see him go.

I did find out of Rob's passing at the time, sorry I didn't post it here. Rob and I had some spirited discussions over statistics especially when the 1.42GHz G4 DP machines came out and we had to agree to disagree end of the discussion but Rob's site was the one I always wanted to make. Do the comparos that make sense to you, that mean something to you. That's why I felt compelled to discuss things with him, because the site was so good, I wanted to contribute to make it the best it could be.

Sad to hear this! I enjoyed his writing and practical comparisons of different Macs. He was a pioneer.

That guy is legend. Deeply informative. May he rest in peace.

I hate to admit I had completely forgotten about Barefeats. I used read a lot of the articles over there.

That's too bad. RIP. He made speed tests and the rest easily understood by the Mac masses. The last time I went hard drive shopping I looked the site up.
