I had a Brinkmann for quite a while. It worked well and I think I replaced just about every internal part at least once. The parts were inexpensive, lasted years, and were easy to get. However, Brinkmann went out of business so the parts became hard to find. I gave it away and bought a used char broil off a friend that was moving.

It's okay, but needs some parts. I'm thinking of buying a new one, but prices seem insane and all the reviews are bad for the ones I find at Lowes & Home Depot.

Some of the things I'm looking for:

- Stainless hood. I store it under a cover, but it's out in the weather all year
- Four burners or more. I have four now and can't imagine having less.
- Easy to get replacement parts that aren't $$$
- Relatively even heating. My current one is pretty bad - worse than my previous one by far
- I don't care about side burners. I'd actually rather not have them. Though I do need a side table or two.
- Uses propane

I thought I'd get a Webber, but wow, their prices have increased. I've found people mentioning the Webbers have more than doubled in price in the past three years. I could be convinced to pay as much as $500, but it better be pretty sweet.

What are the good brands these days?

I just buy whatever is the cheapest on clearance in the fall at 50% off and use that for 3 years and then recycle it and buy another. I'm at about $500 spent over the last 15 years.

500 gets you a Webber Spirit II E-210, and it Is pretty sweet.
But it seems it’s half the grill you want.

I think my Weber Genesis 3 burner will last me the rest of my life. Only thing I've replaced in like 13 years are the flavorizer bars. I got mine when they switch from side control to front controls and got a big discount, got it for $400. Saw a near new one on FB Marketplace the other day for $100.

FWIW, the stainless steel cover gas grills won't last more than 3 years until the burners rust out, and then the mild steel lower body rusts out.

I have a NexGrill .. replaced the burners and heat tents with stainless. The lower body is rusting out too... I'm in the market for a more robust replacement at the end of season sales.

My Weber Genesis three burner is probably 15+ years old now. Replaced the flavor bars with stainless and still running strong. I too have the last year of the left to right burners (Wished I had the front to back burners but still I love my grill). Only bitch I have is the grease needs to be cleaned out often or we have fire (newer models corrected the flaw). I think this thing will last another 10-20+ years!!!

A few hand tools should let you remove the box/lid from the frame, although some research might be needed for that.

Avoid the models from the 2000s with steel cabinets and choose something either recent or old with an open frame. Any model with a closed cabinet can rust the cabinet. (There was a period when Weber thought it was sophisticated to hide the gas tank and so on.)

The lids are porcelain enamel, you don’t need a SS lid.

Weber parts are easy to get, but keep in mind gas grills basically cook themselves to death (burners/Flavorizers) … but Webers should all have aluminum cook boxes. Bottom line, yes there are wear parts but the core of the machine can outlast you. Most gas grills won’t.

Invest in SS cooking grates. Depending on the model, there are also 3rd party makers for these nicer than the ones from Weber.

Do not ever purchase a gas grill with a propane tank tucked under the grill in a cabinet. It is by far the most idiotic useless design choice in the history of gas grills.

That 310 looks fine to me. The rust is in the flavorizer bars. Do they have the same 10yr warranty?

Thanks for that. I find myself regularly using four burners, but maybe I could get away with three. For example, I'll use two for meat and two for veggies.

My Weber genesis is over 24 yrs old. I’ve replaced the flavor bars a few times and 1 new set of grates. Almost daily use in warm weather. I just got a z grill pellet smoker…it works well for $249.

Now, higher-end Genesis models, the “stainless” ones might have a SS cabinet. I just don’t know if it’s the cabinet or only the doors that are SS on those. But grill cabinets — even though vented — are moisture traps. Wasp and spider homes, also.

I was under the impression Genesis were SS.
Maybe opening the doors would be enough.
